Terms and Conditions - Shunlee Chauffeur Services

Welcome to Shunlee Chauffeur Services (“Shunlee,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of our chauffeur-driven car services (“Services”) booked through our website, telephone, email, or authorized agents. By making a booking or using our Services, you (“Customer,” “you,” or “your”) agree to be bound by these Terms, which form a legally binding contract. Please read them carefully.

1. Definitions

In these Terms:

  • “Booking” means the reservation of our Services for a specific date, time, and location.
“Contract” refers to the agreement between you and Shunlee for the provision of Services, governed by these Terms.
  • “Services” include chauffeur-driven transportation to and from private airports, seaports, train stations, business events, private tours, and other destinations in the UK and Europe.
  • “Vehicle” refers to any car, minibus, or other transport provided by Shunlee for the Services.

2. Booking and Contract Formation

2.1. Bookings can be made via our website (www.shunlee.com), by telephone, email, or through authorized agents. All bookings are subject to availability and acceptance by Shunlee.

2.2. A Contract is formed upon receipt of a booking confirmation from us via email, text, or other written communication.

2.3. You must provide accurate and complete information during booking, including pickup location, destination, date, time, flight or vessel details (if applicable), number of passengers, and any special requirements (e.g., child seats, accessibility needs, or extra luggage).

2.4. Shunlee reserves the right to refuse any booking at our discretion, including due to vehicle unavailability, extreme weather, or other operational constraints.

2.5. For airport and seaport transfers, we monitor flight or vessel schedules to adjust pickup times accordingly. You must provide accurate travel details at booking to enable this service.

3. Payment

3.1. Prices are quoted in GBP (£) or EUR (€) and include VAT at the applicable rate unless otherwise stated. Additional charges (e.g., tolls, parking fees, congestion charges, or waiting time) may apply and will be communicated at booking or added to the final invoice.

3.2. Payment is required in full at the time of booking unless a corporate account or credit terms have been agreed in writing. We accept major credit/debit cards, bank transfers, and other payment methods as specified on our website.

3.3. Corporate accounts or pre-arranged credit terms must be settled within 14 days of the invoice date, unless otherwise agreed in writing. Late payments may incur interest at 4% above the Bank of England base rate.

3.4. Failure to make payment may result in cancellation of the booking and additional charges for recovery of outstanding amounts.

3.5. No payments should be made directly to chauffeurs unless explicitly authorized by Shunlee.

4. Cancellations and Refunds

4.1. Cancellations must be made in writing via email to bookings@shunlee.com or through our website’s cancellation portal.

4.2. Cancellation fees apply as follows:

    • More than 48 hours before the scheduled pickup time: Full refund, less a £10 administration fee.
    • 24–48 hours before the scheduled pickup time: 50% refund.
    • Less than 24 hours before the scheduled pickup time: No refund.

4.3. No refunds will be issued for “no-shows” (failure to appear at the agreed pickup time and location without prior cancellation).

4.4. If a customer fails to contact Shunlee or the chauffeur within 60 minutes of a scheduled airport pickup (post-flight landing) or 30 minutes for non-airport pickups, the booking will be treated as a no-show, and full charges will apply.

4.5. Shunlee may cancel a booking due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., vehicle breakdown, severe weather). In such cases, we will offer a full refund or an alternative booking, at your discretion.

5. Changes to Bookings

5.1. Changes to bookings (e.g., pickup time, location, destination, or vehicle type) must be requested in writing and are subject to availability and additional charges, if applicable.

5.2. Additional mileage, waiting time, or route changes requested during the journey will incur extra charges at our standard rates, payable directly or added to the invoice.

5.3. For cross-border travel (e.g., UK to Europe via ferry or tunnel), customers are responsible for arranging and covering costs of ferry tickets, tunnel fees, or dock permissions, unless agreed otherwise.

6. Passenger Conduct

6.1. Passengers must treat chauffeurs and other passengers with respect. Abusive, aggressive, or unsafe behavior may result in refusal of service or termination of the journey without refund.

6.2. Smoking, vaping, consuming alcohol, or using illegal substances in our Vehicles is strictly prohibited.

6.3. Passengers are responsible for any damage caused to the Vehicle due to negligence or misconduct. Repair or cleaning costs will be charged to the Customer, and we reserve the right to deduct such costs from the payment method provided.

6.4. Food and non-alcoholic beverages may be consumed with prior consent from the chauffeur, provided they do not cause mess or damage.

6.5. Passengers must wear seatbelts at all times, and standing or leaning out of windows or sunroofs is prohibited.

6.6. Unaccompanied minors under 16 are not permitted unless accompanied by a parent or guardian, or with prior written consent from Shunlee.

7. Luggage and Personal Belongings

7.1. Passengers must inform Shunlee of luggage requirements at booking. Oversized or excessive luggage may incur additional charges or require a larger Vehicle.

7.2. Shunlee is not responsible for loss or damage to personal belongings left in the Vehicle, unless caused by our negligence. Passengers are responsible for ensuring proper loading and unloading of their luggage.

7.3. Lost items will be held for 30 days. If unclaimed, they will be disposed of or donated. Retrieval of lost items may incur a handling or delivery fee.

7.4. Shunlee reserves the right to refuse carriage of luggage if the volume or weight is deemed excessive or unsafe by the chauffeur.

8. Vehicle and Chauffeur

8.1. All Vehicles and chauffeurs are licensed by the relevant local authority (e.g., Transport for London in the UK) and comply with applicable regulations.

8.2. Shunlee reserves the right to substitute a Vehicle or chauffeur with one of equivalent standard if necessary, with notification to the Customer where possible.

8.3. Chauffeurs will choose the most appropriate route unless otherwise instructed by the Customer at booking. Shunlee is not liable for delays due to traffic, weather, or other circumstances beyond our control.

9. Liability

9.1. Shunlee’s liability for any loss, damage, or delay is limited to the cost of the booking, except where prohibited by law.

9.2. We are not liable for missed flights, vessel departures, or other connections due to delays beyond our control (e.g., traffic, adverse weather, or third-party disruptions).

9.3. Shunlee is not liable for any indirect or consequential losses, including loss of profit, revenue, or opportunity, arising from the use of our Services.

9.4. All Vehicles are fully insured for passenger and third-party claims as required by law. Our liability for personal injury or death is limited to the extent permitted by law.

10. Complaints and Disputes
